At Swift Pass Drive School, our mission is to equip learner drivers with the skills and confidence needed to become safe and responsible drivers.
Your Journey to Safe Driving
Basic eligibility & Permit
To obtain your learner's permit to learn to drive in WA you must be at least 16 yrs old.
Once issued, a learner's permit is valid for 3 years.
You must pass a theory test and an eyesight test as part of the permit application.
Learner Driving
While learning to drive on a learner's permit, you must display L plates on the front and back of the vehicle when driving.
A supervising driver who sits next to you must hold a full valid licence of the same vehicle class for at least 4 years.
Supervised Driving hours for under - 25's
If you're under 25 years old, you must log at least 50 supervised driving hours in a log book or Learn & log digital version before you can sit the practical driving assessment.
Out of those 50 hours, at least 5 hours must be at night.
If you are 25 years or older, you are exemp from the log hours requirement.
HPT Test - If you are under 25 you have to take the Hazard Perception Test.
In WA you must be at least 16 yrs and 6 months, or held your learners permit for at least 6 months before taking the HPT Test.
PDA (Practical Driving Assesment)
Generally, you can make your booking with Dot Direct up to 6 months in advance. We are happy to help you with this. On the day of your test you must arrive 15 mins prior to your appointment.
You should give more than 2 full days notice to cancel or reschedule a PDA . If you have a learner's logbook, it must be completed. If unsure, check with your instructor.

These terms and conditions apply to all driving lessons and services provided by Swift Pass Drive School.
By booking lessons you agree to these Terms and Conditions
1. Lessons and fees are stated at the time of booking and may be subject to change with reasonable notice.
2. Lessons must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed.
3. Block bookings must be used within 12 months from date of purchase.
Prices are not refundable.
4. Plese arrive on time for your lesson the lesson will still finish at the scheduled time.
5. You must provide 24hrs notice for cancellations otherwise the full lesson fee will be charged.
6. The instructor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to vehicle issues, illness or unsafe weather conditions.
